Quilter plc announces its intention to sell Quilter International

Our parent company, Quilter plc, has announced its intention to sell Quilter International to Utmost Group. Following completion of the sale, Quilter International will become part of Utmost International, part of Utmost Group, and together will create the market leader in international life assurance.

We believe Utmost International is an excellent organisation to look after Quilter International customers as it is a highly regarded business which is culturally aligned with Quilter and focused on growth in the markets in which Quilter International already operates.

The transaction, which is subject to approval by Quilter’s shareholders and from UK and overseas regulators, is expected to complete by the end of 2021 or early 2022.

Why is Quilter plc selling Quilter International?

Quilter International has been an important part of Quilter’s story so far, however, looking forward Quilter aims to simplify its business and focus on its principal customer groups in the UK market.

What happens next?

We will seek the necessary approvals from shareholders and regulators and work with Utmost International to complete the transaction and prepare for a smooth transition to ensure that the interests of advisers and their clients are protected.
